What it was
ContextOS is a browser-wide SaaS product that includes a web application, Chrome browser extension, and MCP server. The sale includes the complete source code, domain, frontend, backend, browser extension, database setup, authentication, subscription and payment infrastructure, deployment configuration, and related project assets. The product is currently pre-revenue with $0 revenue and 0 active subscribers. The buyer can continue development, launch and market the existing product, expand browser integrations and workflows, or repurpose the technology for another product.
ContextOS was built as a complete browser-wide SaaS product with a web application, Chrome extension, and MCP server. The product is functional, but it is currently pre-revenue with 0 active subscribers. I decided to explore selling the completed product and technology rather than continuing to invest significant time into commercialization. The buyer can launch the existing product, continue development, or repurpose the technology for another opportunity. The sale includes the source code, domain, browser extension, backend, frontend, database setup, authentication, payment infrastructure, deployment configuration, and related assets. Biggest mistake: I focused heavily on building the technology before validating customer acquisition and monetization at scale. Retention / experiments: The product remained pre-revenue, so there was not enough paid-user data to meaningfully analyze churn. The main challenge was moving from a completed product to customer acquisition and monetization.
Building the product is only one part of building a successful SaaS business. Customer validation, positioning, distribution, and acquisition need to be tested alongside development.
